"SweetArt, a piece of cake!": 2 Xmas Workshops
20 November 2006I was looking for new themes for the Xmas Holidays workshops when my daughter Ambre (age 16) came with this: " Maman, why don't you take your Explorers to the Kitchen and instead of doing Papier mâché sculptures this Xmas you'd make amazing cakes, they will love it!". I nearly dismissed the idea. But it kept coming back, until I found myself raiding the libraries and bookshop of North London and poring over baking and Sugar Craft articles on the net. Since then, I have been spending time in the kitchen and inspired by Sugar Artists like Lindy Smith I'll invite you to join me during the holidays.

“Acrobatics!”
With the participation of Circus GloryOur aim will be to draw the body in action:
Using video footage of circus artists and dancers, as well as a visit to the trapeze artist Geneviève Monastesse from Circus Glory, we will experiment with simple techniques; we will mix drawing from observation and from memory. We will learn to make quick sketches and to use photos to make notes.
For this exploration of the body in movement, we will use pencils, charcoal, sanguine, pigments and inks.
Audience: Children and Teenagers
Dates/Time: Fri & Sat 29, 30 September & 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21 October
Term times apply
