]]>To answer the numerous queries about the workshops at Christmas...... This is what has been in preparation!
Dance, movement and the world of Ballet is the focus of the last workshop of the year. Join us for an exploration of movement around the magical exhibition of Degas and Dance at the Royal Academy of Arts.
I hope you will find the program interesting! The exhibition is wonderful, and I am very excited about sharing my passion for Dance with my young students.

• Day 1 Monday 19 December Royal Academy of Arts: discover the work of Degas and sketch.
• Day 2 Tuesday 20 December Painting Explorers's Studio: draw from films, exploring one of the ballets that would have been performed in Degas's time as well as a more recent one.
• Day 3 Thursday 22 December Painting Explorers's Studio: Finally, you will use the work of the previous days in order to create your own interpretation of dance and movement.
During these 3 days you will learn to gather informations, sketch and build a sketch book that will help expand your drawing skills and familiarise you with human anatomy. You will use pencils, graphite, markers, biros, dry pastels and paint to express movement and shapes.
…. You will experiment with various ways of mark making alongside the more traditional methods of sketching, drawing and painting.

How to create spooks, spirits, ghoulish damsels, forlorn ghosts, villains, and heroes in the Shoujo style and lay the foundations of a story.

1 Come to the studio for the Halloween SweetArt workshop and be prepared to get very sticky for 3 days!
2 Design a cake, but not any cake... this one is a Halloween one
3 Time for magical spells to be cast, charms to be dropped in the dough: bake the cake!
4 prepare a lot of sugar paste and other wonderful sweet decorations
5 This is an other magical moment: build your cake!

The Autumn term starts on 15 September for Thursday group and on 17 September for the Saturday group. We will continue work on elements of drawing and painting on Thursday and embark on an exploration of our wonderful City: Draw London will explore perspective and city scapes for the composition of cityscapes working with photos, collages… We will meet for one session at the South bank and an other at Alexandra Palace and you will bring back sketches and photos in order to create your own vision of London. The Saturday young Explorers will build the robot they had designed last term. They will then join the exploration of London.
The Saturday Workshops for pre teens-and teens will continue, the frequency as well as the length seem to be conducive of interesting dedicated work. This term we will have 2 modules of 3 sessions each:
1 Manga Exploration workshops : More on use of angles and shots, dynamic laying up and the integration of text, exploring the work of great Manga artists.
2 Drawing in Museum : Basic elements of drawing: Line, tone, empty spaces explored through sketching.
During Half term, The Halloween Manga Workshop will be an occasion to create scary stories with ghoulish characters and during Halloween Sweet Art, we will decorate seriously delicious cakes on the festive theme….
Finally, the Christmas Art workshop will focus on Dance and movement around the Exhibition of Degas and Dance at the Royal Academy. We will explore the exhibition, draw from life with a dancer, experiment with dry pastels and paint to express movement and shapes.
